There are many reasons that your aerial imagery can have trouble processing. In this article we will cover the most common issues and how you can make sure to capture and process high quality data for your analytics.
Your mission altitude is crucial in determining what analytics can be created from your images. Each analytic has a set altitude for data capture, depending on the sensor you are using. If your mission altitude is too high, your sensor will not be able to capture sufficient detail.
DJI onboard camera’s such as the Phantom 4 Pro have known issues with capturing blurry imagery. If your drone camera is not properly focused you may be collecting unusable blurry imagery. To properly focus your DJI camera, first launch the drone, then press the DJI settings button in FieldAgent Mobile, when your drone is at its mission altitude. Then tap the ground to focus the camera and resume the mission.
Some fields have significant changes in elevation. For data capture, this means that the aerial imagery will have an inconsistent distance above ground level. To ensure that each image is captured at the same distance, enable Terrain Informed Flight Planning in FieldAgent Mobile. This feature adjusts your mission altitude to match the changes in elevation.
Plants need to be at the correct growth stage for different analytics to process. Crops must be large enough to be detected in the aerial imagery, and they need to have developed features such as tassels for them to be detected. Attempting to capture data too early can result in failed processing.
When ordering your image analytics, it’s important to make sure that your data has synced with FieldAgent. This will happen automatically after import to FieldAgent Web. When importing to FieldAgent Desktop it’s important to keep the application running until it has finished syncing to the cloud. If you prematurely exit FieldAgent Desktop before your data syncs, then Sentera will be unable to access the data and process your analytics.
It’s important to keep your Sensors and FieldAgent Applications up to date. If you have older software, your images may be unable to process. Update your software and attempt to reprocess your images.
Your images may not be able to process if your computer does not meet the system requirements of FieldAgent Desktop or the Local Stitching Service. Make sure that your computer is able to run these applications. If you do not have a computer capable of local stitching, then cloud stitching by Sentera is an option to process your imagery.
